Market Street Park is about 1.2 acres. It is wide open and spacious, with plenty of room to run. It features a half-court basketball hoop, which is enjoyed by children and adults alike. A large playground structure, that includes a couple different slides, sits in the back corner of the park. This is one of the few areas in this park where there is some shade. In this shaded area there are also a couple of benches to relax on while keeping an eye on the children on the playground. The park was built in the summer of 1911. It was originally called the Children's Playground because it was considered a multi-cultural park during a period of segregation.
