Malvern Institute treats and educates individuals suffering from the disease of addiction and psychiatric disorders. The institute has operated since 1948 and is housed in a farmhouse located on several acres in Chester County, Pa. Its clients include nurses, attorneys, doctors, pharmacists, businessmen, students and laborers. Malvern Institute has 58 beds licensed by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Drug and Alcohol for detoxification and rehabilitation services. The institutes inpatient program ranges from five to 28 days. Clients are assessed and stabilized before transitioning to the next level of care. Malvern Institute coordinates various initiatives, such as individual counseling, family education, group therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, spirituality, relapse prevention and discharge planning.
