The Lower Paxton Township s Parks and Recreation Department maintains more than 250 acres of park land and offers a wide range of recreational activities and events. The various parks provided by the department include Koons, Brightbill, Lingle, Centennial Acres and Forest Hills. The parks have a variety of facilities, such as picnic sites, baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, restrooms and nature trails. The department organizes various recreational workshops, such as classes in cooking, self-defense, acupuncture, arts and crafts, dance, golf, painting and guitar classes. It also organizes fitness programs that include aerobics and yoga classes. Additionally, it operates a senior center that offers leisure programs and meals to senior citizens. The Parks and Recreation Department is located in Harrisburg, Pa.
