The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that protects the lives, property and civil rights of citizens and visitors in Lancaster, Pa. It serves processes in civil matters and obtains personal jurisdiction for the court. The office also provides security and protection to the Court of Common Pleas and the Lancaster County Courthouse. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office conveys and transports prisoners to and from court and state prisons. In addition, it assists other law enforcement agencies and protection against abuse orders. The office conducts investigations and issues concealed weapons permits and licenses to sell firearms. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office also conducts judicial sales of real and personal property, as well as determines property ownership
