Dr. James T. Redshaw, Jr., MD Dr. James T. Redshaw, Jr., MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He has extensive experience treating a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, including Achilles tendinitis or rupture, all sports injuries, ankle arthroscopy, ankle fractures, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, arthroscopic surgery, athletes with sports and throwing injuries, biceps tendon tears/injuries, broken bones (fractures). He also has experience in cartilage restoration and defects, collateral ligament tears (LCL/MCL), femoral acetabular impingement (FAI), football injuries, hip arthroscopy, hip pain, hip sprain, hip flexor injury, hip stress fracture or hip dysplasia (under 50), knee and/or shoulder arthroscopy, labral tears, meniscus tears, minimally invasive surgery, patella dislocation & instability, pediatric orthopedic surgery, posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) tears, and rotator cuff surgery. Dr. Redshaw's commitment to excellence in patient care is evident in his impressive academic and professional background. He graduated valedictorian from Norwin High School in Pittsburgh, PA, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with honors from the University of Notre Dame, where he also played varsity football for three years. He then pursued his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, graduating with honors. Following medical school, Dr. Redshaw returned to Pittsburgh for his orthopaedic surgery residency with Allegheny Health Network. He further honed his skills in sports medicine through a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Redshaw practiced with a private health system in the suburbs of Indianapolis, IN, before returning to Pittsburgh to join Allegheny Health Network, driven by a desire to be closer to family.
