History
In 1978, Robert M. Lombard, M.D. brought hyperbaric medicine to the Susquehanna River Valley in Pennsylvania. He began with a single monoplace chamber in the Columbia Hospital, in Lancaster County. Six months later, he opened his own clinic, the Hyperbaric Oxygenation Medical Center. This private clinic had three monoplace chambers available to outpatients, and an additional chamber remained in the hospital. Soon realizing the great need for this type of medical application, he expanded the center in 1984, eventually adding a fourth monoplace chamber, and making it the largest free-standing hyperbaric facility in the northeast. Today, the Medical Center remains one of the largest free-standing hyperbaric facilities on the east coast, employing medical professionals who collectively have over 60 years of experience in hyperbaric medicine! Along with hyperbaric oxygenation we offer pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF), Far Infrared Sauna (FIR), Quadriciser therapy, and alkaline water. All are gifted to those taking hyperbaric treatments.
