History
Mount Oliver Fitness began as Pilates by Valerie in 2011 and has since grown to include Zumba and Barre Fitness in addition to Pilates. It was founded by Valerie, a Pilates instructor, when South Side Athletic Club, where she worked, went out of business. Instead of seeking to replace her hours at another gym she decided to venture out and start her own classes, thus the beginning of Pilates by Valerie, now Mount Oliver Fitness.
Specialties
Fun, affordable, group fitness classes for all skill levels and experience. Classes include Zumba, Mat Pilates, and Barre Fitness. Zumba is a high energy dance fitness class that will help burn fat and improve cardiovascular system. Pilates will strengthen, stretch, and align your entire body improving posture, balance, and muscle tone. Barre Fitness is a fusion class inspired by ballet that utilizes a barre and light dumbbells to increase strength, balance, and muscular endurance. This is a well rounded fitness program that will show results through weight loss, inches lost, muscular strength gains, and relief from minor muscular aches and pains.
