The Educational Programs and Services Department, governed by Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8, provides various programs and services to meet the educational needs of students in kindergarten through grade 12. Its gifted education program enrichment and content-based classes for advanced students. The Educational Programs and Services Department s hearing impaired support services include in-house intervention programs for infants and preschoolers and their families. It also provides specialized instruction, speech and language support, and occupational and physical therapy services for qualifying children between the ages of 3 and 5. The Educational Programs and Services Department s alternative education for disruptive youth programs provide participating students with a course of instruction that recognizes their special needs and prepares them for successful return to a regular school curriculum and completion of the requirements for graduation.
