Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion is Philadelphia's only authentically restored Victorian house museum. The Mansion was saved from the wrecker ball in the 1960s by dedicated preservationists including renowned architect Henry Magaziner.

Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion is Philadelphia's only authentically restored Victorian house museum and garden. Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion's mission is to preserve the building and the story of its inhabitants as examples of Philadelphia's emerging middle class from 1850 to 1880 and to encourage the study of Victorian era culture at the time of the American Industrial Revolution and the Civil War. Each year Mansion hosts a series of workshops to educate the public about crafts and needlework from the era including crazy quilting and watercolor. The Mansion is also home to Victorian Theater which presents diametrical productions from the era such as Sherlock Holmes mysteries, works of Charles Dickens and an annual Murder Mystery similar to the game of
