Exelon Generation, a division of Exelon Corporation, owns and controls one of the largest generation portfolios in the country, nearly 33 gigawatts of low-cost owned and contracted generation. It is composed of a diverse mix of fossil, hydro, nuclear and renewable generation facilities. The division consists of three operating businesses. Exelon Power is responsible for managing, operating and maintaining the company s fossil and hydroelectric plants, consisting of nearly 110 units capable of generating approximately 8,000 megawatts of electricity. The units are located in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Illinois, Texas and Massachusetts. Exelon Nuclear operates a large fleet of nuclear generating stations. Exelon Nuclear s 10 stations, with 17 reactors, represent approximately 20 percent of the United States s nuclear industry s power capacity and about 3 percent of all U.S. power generation. Power Team, responsible for marketing Exelon Generation s product, works to develop and deliver products that meet customer needs. Power Team s customers include municipal electric customers and cooperative- and investor-owned utilities, as well as aggregators, merchant participants and major commodity trading houses.
