Founded in 1965, Community Progress Council is the community action agency of York County, Pa. It is a nonprofit organization that aims at promoting self-sufficiency among low-income residents of the York County. The council offers various programs, such as case management, community centers, foster grandparents, head start of York County, senior community service employment program, start something, supported engagement, and woman, infants and children. Its Healthy York Network is a consortium of health care providers, York Health Corporation, York City Bureau of Health, York Spanish American Center and WellSpan Health. These agencies work together to improve access to health care services for individuals and families that cannot afford them. Located in York, Pa., Community Progress Council is a member of United Way, the Community Action Association of Pennsylvania and the Community Action Partnership.
