Clean Earth of Philadelphia operates an 8-plus-acre thermal treatment facility south of Philadelphia. It consists of a contaminated material storage building, processing unit, temporary storage, on-site laboratory and office space. The processing plant is runs 24 hours a day and is capable of handling a variety of volatile contaminants ranging from gasoline and alcohols to phenols and coal tar residuals. It is part of Clean Earth, a company that provides a wide range of solutions for various environmental issues. The company has soil and waste treatment facilities in Carteret, N.J.; Hagerstown, Md.; New Castle, Del.; Friendly, W.Va.; and Morrisville, Pa. It processes 400,000 tons of petroleum contaminated soil per year. Clean Earth provides a wide range of services that include thermal desorption, bioremediation and dredge processing. Clean Earth is based in Hatboro, Pa.
