HistoryChurch of the Redeemer was founded by Pastor Dale and Terry O'Shields in the summer of 1986. The church began as a response to God's call. The passage found in Isaiah 41:8-20, was a word of encouragement and promise about the work He called our Pastors to and the mission of Church of the Redeemer. The first service was held at Gaithersburg Junior High School, with one family from the community in attendance. Since then, we have grown into one church with multiple locations in Gaithersburg, Frederick, Shady Grove and Clarksburg! Our goal was and is, to reach the people of Montgomery County,Maryland and its surroundings with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It is to this calling that we have committed our resources and energies.SpecialtiesThe mission of Church of the Redeemer is to communicate the wonderful news of Jesus Christ. We believe in the power of God's Word to change lives. We value the practical application of His Word to make a difference in who we are and what we do.
