Chartiers Community Mental Health and Retardation Center, based in Bridgeville, Pa., is a private, nonprofit agency that serves the mental health needs of the Greater Pittsburgh community. Established in 1969, it offers a wide range of mental health and disorder services, case management and 24-hour crisis intervention services. Its staff comprises psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, nurses and other specialists. Its mental health services consist of four categories, including outpatient, residential, rehabilitation and clinical support. It treats mental disorders through its day services, senior citizen s programs, vocational training, employment and training center, family living and recreational activities. Case managers help individuals access mental health programs and avail of various services, such as housing, education, advocacy, medical and legal needs.
