The Hanover Township Fire Department protects more than 12,000 residents located within 20 square miles of Hanover Township, Pa. It offers fire suppression and rescue services through nearly five stations. The department also conducts a water rescue program with two inflatable boats. The Hanover Township Fire Department owns a command vehicle in conjunction with the community ambulance association. It additionally maintains a rapid intervention team, safety committee and fire police unit, as well as a ladies auxiliary group that provides refreshments for firefighters on the scene. The Hanover Township Fire Department also operates a relief association and conducts fundraisers and safety training classes.
