History
Starting out as a circuit stop on a Methodist preachers circuit the church began to grow and develop. Construction of the current building began in 1880 following the Milton Fire. It opened its doors in 1882. Since then, the congregation has survived may floods including the 1972 flood and the test of time.
Specialties
We are a United Methodist Church grounded in the Wesleyan tradition. We hold services every Sunday morning at 10:30 am with the tradition United Methodist hymns, children's church is available during the service though they are more than welcome to attend regular service. Sunday school begins at 9:00 am on Sunday morning in the lounge. We practice Communion on the first Sunday of every month, all persons are welcome to receive Communion. We are currently looking to expand our ministries and become a place where anyone can call it home and feel spiritually nourished. The office is open Monday and Tuesday mornings, feel free to drop in. Wednesdays and Saturdays as well as afternoons are reserved for appointments. We do welcome weddings, please feel free to call and ask about availability and it is possible to bring your own pastor. Our pastor is also available to perform the ceremony, but requires the couple to schedule and attend four pre-marital counseling sessions with him.
