Established in 1998, the Abraxas Youth Center is licensed by the Office of Children, Youth and Families of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and Education. It offers detention and shelter services to youths between the ages of 12 and 18. The center also offers medical, psychological, psychiatric and dental services. In addition, the Abraxas Youth Center offers transportation services at admission, discharge placement and for home passes. It provides life skills training, discharge and continuing care planning, family services, and individual and family counseling. The center also provides assessment and diagnostic services for youths placed in detention and shelter care. The Abraxas Youth Center is located in South Mountain, Pa.
