The original Wanker's Corner Saloon & Cafe was opened shortly after the repeal of prohibition, in 1933. It shared space with a grocery store, about six miles North of the current location. The head Wanker kept collecting more and more antiques, junk, knickknacks, Americana, Australiana, movie posters, and many unidentifiable objects, that the space became too crowded, and a move to a larger building was inevitable. The Portland suburb of Wilsonville was selected for its charm, beauty, fast growing population and the fact it is located close to a freeway so our customers who come from far and wide can easily find us. Wanker's Corner is dedicated to feeding the hungry in two ways: ( 1 ) Serving large portions of damn good food at a reasonable price, and ( 2 ) raising over $120, 000 for the Oregon Food Bank by collecting a cover charge at the door on dance nights.
