History
The Public Safety Training Center was built in 1998 by Clackamas Community College. In 2004, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office purchased the training center and has owned it ever since. PSTC is a unique facility as it both a public training center serving the Portland Metro Area, but it is also one of the top regional Law Enforcement training centers for local, state, and federal agencies. The PSTC creates a unique opportunity for public citizens to experience resources and programming shared with world class law enforcement trainers and officers. It is a safe and encouraging environment for learning and a vital conduit to between law enforcement and the public they serve.
Specialties
The PSTC is a public firearms range and training center. We are widely regarded as one of the Portland Area's best indoor gun ranges with ten 25 yard lanes. All of our staff are all NRA certified Range Safety Officers and Pistol Instructors. Our range is clean, safe, and welcoming to all people interested in developing and maintaining their skills, or just looking for a fun and safe place to shoot in the Portland Area. We have a wide range of classes from beginner to very advanced skill levels; our lead instructor is a world class competitive shooter and highly regarded among top international instructors. In addition to firearms training, we offer personal safety classes including wilderness survival/preparedness, women's self defense, and First Aid/CPR/AED.
