History
What began in 2008 as a conversation between a few visionary Mt Tabor neighbors and leaders of Mt Tabor Presbyterian Church, all of whom valued connectedness, inclusion, and safety within community, has grown into a vibrant and diverse, non-profit community gathering place, Taborspace. The bell tower doors on the NE corner of 55th and Belmont were opened in June of 2009 to welcome Taborspace's new Coffee House. The original chapel was transformed into a large inviting common space, where neighbors started coming to meet new and old friends while enjoying the warmth of a handmade beverage. The wings of the church building were quickly filled with creative, educational, and community activities. We've come a long way and are still committed to the original concept of cultivating a collaborative community space that actively involves anyone wanting to participate and contribute.
