Sun Gro Horticulture is one of the North America's largest producers of horticultural-grade peat. The firm is also one of the largest distributors of peat moss and peat and bark-based growing mixes in the United States. Based in Hubbard, Ore., it began operations in 1929 in as the Western Peat Company Ltd. Sun Gro Horticulture sells products primarily to professional greenhouse, nursery and specialty crop growers throughout North America, as well as to golf course developers and landscapers.
