Located in Ashland, Ore., Ashland Parks & Recreation is operated by a five-member elected Park Commission that provides and promotes recreational opportunities, and preserves and maintains public lands. The department consists of three divisions, including parks, recreation, and golf. Its parks division operates, maintains, constructs, and plans parks and recreational facilities within the system, including the development of new parks and administration of open space areas. The department s recreation division provides general recreation and aquatics programs for residents. Its golf division provides services for the Oak Knoll Golf Course, a municipal course owned by the City of Ashland. Ashland Parks & Recreation includes various parks, such as Hunter Park, Garfield Park, Bluebird Park, and Sherwood Park. The department s parks and recreation facilities offers a variety of facilities and services, such as swimming pools and swimming classes, fitness programs, day trips, rock climbing and sporting activities, and circus camps.
