Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue (PNWSAR) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that has been serving Oregon's Region 2 and neighboring communities since 1993. Dedicated to providing search and rescue assistance for individuals lost or injured in outdoor environments, PNWSAR offers ground search teams and other resources to official agencies responsible for search and rescue activities in the region.
Equipped to operate in challenging weather and terrain, PNWSAR volunteers are available 24/7, 365 days a year, responding quickly to calls from the Sheriff. With a focus on ground search operations, the organization's training encompasses wilderness navigation, search techniques, patient evacuation, and survival skills, exceeding the Oregon State Sheriffs Association search and rescue certification standards. PNWSAR also collaborates closely with other regional search and rescue organizations, preparing their teams for missions that require coordination and teamwork with diverse resource groups.
