Insurance Division
The Insurance Division protects the public by ensuring the financial soundness of insurers. It is a part of the Department of Consumer and Business Services, which is administered by the state of Oregon. The division reviews insurance products and premium rates for compliance purposes. The Insurance Division resolves consumer complaints and licenses insurance producers and consultants. In addition, it investigates and penalizes companies and producers for the violations of insurance law. The division monitors the marketplace conduct of insurers and producers. The Insurance Division also educates the public about insurance issues. Its market surveillance unit develops policy recommendations for legislative and administrative actions to correct inequities.
