History
The owners, Jennifer and Ron Rich, began making paper in a blender 25 years ago, selling it in Oregon Saturday markets. As newlyweds, they took a bicycle tour through France, visiting local paper mills. Upon their return, they set up a studio in Vashon Island, Washington. In 1999, they opened the Pearl District retail store, housing also a letterpress and paper making studio. At this time, the Pearl District was still largely an industrial neighborhood. Today, though, it's a thriving arts district filled with urban lofts, restaurants, art galleries and shops.
