Willamette National Forest stretches for more than 110-miles along the western slopes of the Cascade Range in western Oregon. The forest extends from the Mount Jefferson area to the Calapooya Mountains, and is more than 1,675,000-acres in size. It offers varied landscape of high mountains, narrow canyons, cascading streams and wooded slopes. Willamette National Forest is one of the most diverse and productive forests in the National Forest System. The forest is a home to more than 300 species of fish and wildlife, including the northern spotted owl, northern bald eagle, wolverine, and various other species. The forest also features Roosevelt elk, black bear, cougar, and black tailed and mule deer. Willamette National Forest offers a wide variety of recreation opportunities during summers and winters.
