The Lake Oswego Fire Department works to provide emergency response to more than 50,000 citizens. Its emergency services include fire suppression, emergency medical response, hospital ambulance transportation, water, dive and technical rescue operations, and hazardous material incidents and disaster response. The department is also responsible for code enforcement, public safety education services, residential safety surveys, and home fire escape and emergency and disaster preparedness planning. The Lake Oswego Fire Department maintains a community emergency response team that trains members of neighborhoods, community organizations and workplaces in basic response skills. It conducts sprinkler and child passenger safety seat inspections. The department also issues recreational burning permits. It is located in Lake Oswego, Ore.
