LaCrosse Footwear has provided performance footwear and apparel to keep people warm, dry and comfortable for more than 100 years. The company develops and markets innovative rubber, leather and vinyl footwear for expert users at work and in the outdoors under the brand names Danner and LaCrosse. These shoes are distributed domestically through a nationwide network of specialty retailers and distributors and internationally through distributors in Asia and Europe. The company was founded in 1897 as LaCrosse Rubber Mills, a rubber horseshoe and rainwear manufacturer in LaCrosse, Wis. By 1906, the company had switched to the rubber and canvas footwear market. In 2001, LaCrosse moved its headquarters to Portland, Ore., where it joined its sister company, Danner.
