The Hillsboro School District operates under a superintendent and an elected school education board and governs more than 30 schools. The schools offer classes from preschool through grade 12. The superintendent coordinates the educational program; provides leadership in its development; and is responsible for the management of the schools as authorized by the board policy. The board provides a wide variety of leadership and supervisory responsibilities in areas that include its curriculum, education programs, assessment and evaluations. It supervises the business services of the district, such as construction and facilities renovation, maintenance and operations, technology, purchases and fiscal services. It promotes student activities in the district, including many athletic, arts and youth programs that are offered through its schools. The district office is located in Hillsboro, Ore.
