Oregon Cherry Growers, established in 1932 and located in The Dalles, Ore., is a cooperative owned by the growers who supply cherries to cooperatives. The members work with the growers on the varieties of cherries planted and how they are grown and harvested. The cooperative uses modern technologies to process its products and also owns and operates advanced processing and packing plants. It also has a trained technical staff to oversee quality control and research and development processes. The association produces cherries in every segment of the industry, such as fresh, maraschino, frozen, brined, ingredient and canned. The products of Oregon Cherry Growers are distributed to food service, retail and industrial markets, both in the United States and throughout the world.
