It all started with me looking to replace my four shirts. See, I wear four shirts and four shirts only. Since I only use these four shirts I need them to look good while I'm at work, perform well while I'm out hiking or biking, and generally stand up to years of abuse. A few years ago I purchased some 60/40 cotton/poly Henley shirts that were now falling apart. It was time to replace them. In retrospect, these shirts just didn't fit the bill. I knew I needed something different - I wanted something comfortable, fast drying, and odor/wrinkle/stretch resistant. This lead me to merino wool. Initially, Merino seemed to be perfect material for my four-shirt rotation. But the more I looked into merino, I quickly realized the downsides: it is very expensive and it is very delicate.
