History
My name is Tim O'Neill, and I started Alameda Metalworks in 2005 after I lost my job as an airline pilot for American Airlines. I was going a bit stir crazy as a stay at home dad, so in the afternoons I started welding small sculptures, barbecues and whatever work I could find. I eventually got my job back at the airline, but discovered that I actually liked building things more than I liked flying. Alameda Metalworks was named for the neighborhood that I live in in Northeast Portland. It is a great old neighborhood with lots of craftsman tudor and old Portland Style homes and our handrails fit right in.
Specialties
Alameda Metalworks is a small welding company that specializes in custom handrails, guardrails, stairs and gates. We build everything by hand to custom specifications and are proud to consider ourselves craftsmen. We do a wide range of work from old world blacksmithing to modern linear. We build on site so each railing fits perfectly. We also do sculpture, fireplace tools, memorial figurines and repairs. We think you will find easy to deal with and friendly because we honestly enjoy our work.
