HistoryBuilders' Hardware & Supply Company as it exists today, was founded by Tom Shannon and his daughter Shirley Henry (then Shannon). Mr. Shannon came out of retirement at the age of 54, sold his boat, and mortgaged his home in order to purchase BH&S from the previous owners. A branch in Kennewick was established in the late 1960s. Through the 1970s Mrs. Henry ran the contract division while Mr. Shannon used his expertise to enhance the dealer division. The Hollow Metal Division opened in 1981 and the Contract Residential Department began in 1986. Builders' Hardware also has a distribution warehouse in Portland, Oregon. Both Tom Shannon and Shirley Henry remained actively involved in the company until shortly before they passed away in 1996 and in 2002, respectively. They left behind a solid company that is still locally owned.SpecialtiesBuilders' Hardware & Supply specializes in providing high quality locks and door hardware (interior and exterior locks, hinges, etc.), cabinet hardware (knobs and pull), bath accessories (towel bars, robe hook, towel rings, T/P holders), and barn door track (sliding door hardware). We sell both residential and commercial finish hardware as well as commercial doors and frames. We have installations and keying services as well. We believe that the breadth of our product offering along with our services set us apart. Our Kennewick branch is primarily for wholesale business.
