Escape To Oceanside
HistoryWe discovered Oceanside through a friend in the late 70s, fell in love with its quiet beauty and began dreaming of having a place there. We bought a lot in 1985, when they were surprisingly reasonable. After our daughter was born in 1989, we built our cabin with the help of a friend, a crack team of carpenters and Carol's father. We wanted our daughter Eva to have the experience and memories that Carol grew up with on Puget Sound-sand castles, swimming and boogie boarding, collecting agates, wading in tide pools, boating, crabbing and clamming, hiking in the sylvan forests, attending the county fair and June Dairy Parade. Oceanside is a world unto itself-one of the quickest and prettiest drives from Portland and, yet, off the beaten track and full of wild beauty.SpecialtiesCabin for rent in Oceanside, OR Lovingly handcrafted, our cabin is all wood with lots of windows - cozy and warm for storm watching as well as summer fun. Less than a block from the beach, it is perched on the hill, with a breath-taking, wraparound, unobstructed view of the ocean, Netarts bay, Cape Lookout, and 15 miles of beach and breakers. It faces south, and so fills with light in the winter and remains cool in the summer. The main house sleeps 4-6 adults and some kids, with two bedrooms, an open sleeping loft with fold out couches and an open living/dining kitchen with comfy, built-in couches. Additionally there is also a completely separate studio apartment downstairs with its own entrance, deck, kitchen and bathroom. It has the same view as the main house, and is furnished with a queen bed, window seat bed, and tables for dining......great for a quiet get-away for one, a couple, or a very small family. Both units have large decks overlooking the ocean, sheltered from the wind by glass railing. Each has a fully equipped kitchen. There is no TV, but plenty of books to read.
