About Vieux, Inc Baxter and Jean Vieux are co-principals of the company. Vieux, Inc is an engineering company with a certificate of authorization issued by the Oklahoma Board of Engineering and Land Surveying. With an engineering and hydrologic perspective, the company develops technology by integrating the principles of GIS, hydrology, and radar rainfall in software, services and solutions for the public and private sectors in the US and internationally. Jean E. Vieux, CEO/President, has an M. S. in Environmental Science. She manages the company day-to-day operations and provides project management. She has served as the Principal Investigator for GIS, radar rainfall and real-time hydrologic modeling projects and is engaged technology development and integration. Ms. Vieux serves on the Surface Transportation and Business Economic Enterprise Development committees in the American Meteorological Society ( AMS ) and the Collection Systems committee of the Water Environment Federation ( WEF ). She also represents the company industrial partnership with an NSF funded engineering center that has a mission to develop new weather radar hardware and systems that leverage low cost networks of radars for hydrologic applications. As the company's Chief Technology Officer, Baxter E. Vieux, Ph.D., PE provides leadership, expertise and vision Vieux, Inc Dr. Vieux is a full Professor at the University of Oklahoma where he has performed research, taught and published since 1990. He is Director of the Natural Hazards and Disasters Research Center and the University has recognized him as a Presidential Professor. Dr. Vieux is the author of over 100 publications including books chapters on GIS and radar applications. His research monograph, Distributed Hydrologic Modeling Using GIS, published by Kluwer Academic Press, Water Science Technology Series, is a leading text in the field of hydrology. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Vieux was project engineer for a major flood control project and acting state engineer in Michigan responsible for water resources, flood control, and water quality projects with the USDA.
