Ever since I was in first grade, I wanted to be a doctor. At that time, I knew being a good doctor simply meant helping people get better when they were sick and trying to keep them healthy. Since then, medicine has become much more complicated. Mounting paperwork, complex technology, regulations and even the internet have brought about enormous changes in the way physicians practice. Some people even ask me if medicine has become too cumbersome. The best answer seems to lie in my first grade philosophy--helping people get better when they are sick and finding ways to keep them healthy. While simple, it's critical. I will continue to do my best to care for my patients and provide them with the tools to lead healthy lives.
