Superintendent of Sallisaw Public Schools has its office located in Sallisaw, Okla. The school district was organized in the early 1900s and covers more than 150 square miles, and operates under the superintendent and an elected school board. It is a four-school district, comprising of two elementary, a middle and a high school. The schools offer classes from grades kindergarten through 12 and their total enrollment is more than 1,900 students. All schools are regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. Its courses follow the requirements of the state education board and core subjects include English language arts, science, computer studies, social science and mathematics. Superintendent of Sallisaw Public Schools encourages its schools to offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, such as football, softball, basketball and volleyball.
