The Ada Police Department enforces local, state, and federal laws and ordinances, as well as safeguards civil rights. It also apprehends criminals and prepares cases for prosecution. The department handles cases related to homicide, rape, assault, robbery, child abuse, auto theft and burglary. The Ada Police Department maintains emergency management and patrol divisions. It also has a communication center that responds to police, fire and medical emergencies. The department employs more than 30 full-time officers. The Ada Police Department promotes several education and public relation programs. It supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, which helps to prevent drug abuse and violence among children. The department is located in Ada, Okla.
