The Amateur Softball Association of America, founded in 1933, is one of the largest, nonprofit organizations the United States. It is a national governing body of softball in the U.S. The association sanctions competitions in various states through a network of more than 80 local associations. The Amateur Softball Association of America has over 3 million members. It also operates a stadium and conducts nearly 100 national championships on an annual basis. The association has an educational library of softball training manuals and videotapes. In addition, the Amateur Softball Association of America has an equipment testing and specifications committee that examines the current rules and specifications governing the various items of equipment.
