Established in 1998, the Mabel Bassett Correctional Center offers a range of correction services for juveniles and adults. The center is administered by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, which operates more than 20 correction institutions and center and over 70 probation and parole offices. The Oklahoma Department of Corrections maintains a work force of over 4,800 employees. The department operates offender banking, quality assurance, grants administration and finance and accounting departments. The Oklahoma Department of Corrections organizes several career-tech programs in the areas of welding, microfilming, air conditioner maintenance, masonry, plumbing, horticulture and business machines. The department supervises nearly 31,000 offenders.
