I was 12 years old when I started volunteering at a local hospital and saw the difference physicians were making in their patients? lives. I love thinking about my patients as a whole, from head to toe; that?s why I chose infectious diseases as my area of focus. I am most passionate about taking care of my patient, being able to listen to them and provide compassionate care. I love getting to know my patients. The key to providing good care is communication. I want to be able to communicate with my patients about their diagnosis, making sure they understand what?s happening to them, and being able to talk through all the treatment options using shared decision making to come up with a treatment plan that works for them based on their values and circumstances. I will do my best to communicate effectively with my patients their loved ones and their other providers. Being able to see my patients get better and be with their families, their loved ones, motivates me.
