From simple beginnings in 1938, Hiland Dairy has turned its original 50-cow herd into an eight-plant operation in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Hiland is headquartered in Springfield, Mo., and employs approximately 1,400 people in a four-state area. Since 1979, Hiland Dairy has been a joint venture of Prairie Farms Dairy and Dairy Farmers of America. Hiland Dairy is a full-service dairy that produces yogurt, cottage cheese, half and half, milk, orange juice, sour cream and dips, whipping cream, butter, cheese and ice cream.
