Founded by Joe T. Cox is 1972, H-I-S Paint Manufacturing Company is a specialist in the production of paint. Cox named the company H-I-S Paint, in recognition of God s help in his life. During the first 12 years of business H-I-S Paint primarily served the apartment industry and painting contractors. Initially, H-I-S Paint exclusively manufactured latex (water-based) paints. In 1986, the company also began producing alkyd (oil-based paints). This transition allowed H-I-S Paint to expand into industrial and specialty coatings. The company markets its paint regionally in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Colorado, Iowa and Nebraska. H-I-S Paint Manufacturing Company maintains its headquarters in Oklahoma City.
