The Absentee Shawnee Tribe is a public agency provides a selection of services and programs to its tribal members and the larger American Indian community. It maintains a cultural preservation department that preserves, maintains and protects traditions, cultures and languages. The department organizes a variety of activities, such as demonstration classes, language programs, exhibitions, archives and cemetery preservation projects, as well as operates a gift shop, museum, resource center and the Tribal Historic Preservation Office.
