I chose family medicine because I have a background in labor and delivery, and I clearly was taking care of women and infants. I wanted to broaden my population focus in medicine and I thought family medicine was the best place for me to be. I'm most passionate about preventive care. I think it is the steppingstone, the beginning stages of medicine and sometimes it's overlooked. You can make a really big impact on patients' lives through preventive care. The most motivating thing for me is knowing that I've made an impact in somebody's life. That motivates me to want to do more. It's very gratifying when patients come back and are excited or tell me that whatever treatment that I suggested or implemented was life-changing for them.
