The Ardmore Fire Department operates out of three fire stations, strategically located throughout this city in Oklahoma. It operates 24-hours, 365-days a year, and works in three shifts. Established in 1895, the department consists of more than 30 firefighters, covering an area of over 56 square mile. Its various services include attending to structural and wildland fires, first response emergency medical services, vehicle extraction and mechanical rescue and company inspections. It also provides other services, such as hazardous material response, fire safety analysis for business and home, life safety inspections and fire arson investigation. The Ardmore Fire Department reviews plans for new construction, issues burn permits and conducts public fire safety educational programs.
