Established in 1879, the Zanesville Fire Department works to protect more than 25,000 residents living in an area of over 12 square miles. It operates nearly two fire stations and is comprised of approximately 45 officers and firefighters. The Department's apparatus includes pumpers, aerial trucks, foam trailers, and rescue vans and boats. The Zanesville Fire Department also has air bags and hydraulic rescue tools. It provides fire, vehicle, river, rope, confined space and trench rescue services and responds to emergency medical calls, injury accidents and hazardous material incidents. The department also conducts safety talks, tours of fire stations and inspection of fire protection systems. The Zanesville Fire Department is located in Zanesville, Ohio.
