Founded in 1856, Wilberforce University is one of the oldest, private African-American universities in the United States. The university provides a range of undergraduate programs in the areas of humanities, social studies and economics. Wilberforce University conducts classes in biology, accounting, management, marketing, and computer and electrical engineering. The university maintains a library that stocks a collection of journals, magazines, pamphlets and more than 60,000 books. Wilberforce University provides grants, loans, scholarships and other financial aids. The university offers housing opportunities, as well as maintains a bookstore. Wilberforce University organizes various athletic activities. It offers a graduate program in rehabilitation counseling.
