Founded in 1925, the Hearing Speech and Deaf Center of Greater Cincinnati is a nonprofit organization that serves people with hearing impairments, as well as speech disorders. The center employs certified and licensed audiologists who conduct hearing assessments, as well as conducts sign language classes for individuals, groups and businesses. It also offers assistive listening devices, including amplified telephones, vibrating alarm clocks and flashing doorbells. The center provides the Community Services for the Deaf program to promote the development of communication and independent life skills. It conducts speech evaluations for individuals who suffer from strokes, brain injuries and voice disorders. The center organizes presentations and seminars on topics related to phonology, memory loss and mental health care. The Hearing Speech and Deaf Center of Greater Cincinnati maintains a location in Cincinnati.
