Taylor-Winfield Corporation started in 1882 as a sheet metal fabricator. As the company expanded its metal fabricating operations, new electric resistance welding techniques were developed that led to the company's emergence into the market as a manufacturer of this equipment. In 1905, the company designed and built one of the first electrical resistance spot welders sold in the United States. The line broadened to encompass new resistance welding processes with a line of welding equipment. Taylor-Winfield Corporation is an internationally recognized name in metal fabrication equipment. It specializes in development of metal forming and metal joining machinery. The company offers custom designs to meet production line requirements that are adaptable to a range of applications, from simple table top spot welders weighing less than eight pounds to automated lines and assembly equipment weighing more than 240 tons.
